When initiating a ShapeShift trade on classic.shapehift.com, you will be asked to input a refund address. This should be an address controlled by you where we will refund your deposit in the event of a failed transaction. Please note that it should be the coin that is incoming from your wallet to ShapeShift. For example, if you are attempting to exchange Bitcoin for Litecoin, the refund address should be a Bitcoin address from your wallet. This will help our system auto-return the funds to you. In the case that the system does not auto-return the funds, simply open a Support ticket and we will return it to the refund address that you provided.
