To have a successful exchange with ShapeShift, you will need a few key pieces of information:
- Your choice between quick and precise. To have a successful exchange, you will need to know what kind of exchange you are making. Precise exchanges have a 5-minute timer and they are expecting an exact amount while quick exchanges do not. To assure that a precise exchange is successful, we recommend using a personal wallet that you control, as exchanges often delay their outgoing sends.
- Your refund address. If your exchange fails, our system can auto-return your digital assets. By entering the refund address, you assure that we have a way to get your coin back to you.
- Your destination address. This is the address where you would like to receive your new digital assets.
- Your ShapeShift deposit address. You will receive this after you have created your exchange. You must send your coins here for the exchange to work.
Pro Tip: Save your Order ID in case you need to reference it later.
