Thanks you for checking out our new mobile application, you are going to LOVE it! If you already have an account with ShapeShift you may need to take additional steps. Here are 4 scenarios you might be running into. You'll find each one under it's corresponding #:
1. If you have never created an account with ShapeShift before.
2. If you have a Portis account but NOT a ShapeShift account.
3. If you already have a verified account.
4. If you already have a verified account AND use Google SSO to login.

1. If you have never created an account with ShapeShift before just download the application and sign up! You will be prompted to enter an email address and password. We do not know this new password so make sure to remember it and once you create you new wallet save your secret backup (recovery) phrase as well. If you lose your username/password AND your recovery phrase you will lose access to your funds and we will not be able to help you recover them.
*Please Note: Your new password will be used to login to the mobile application as well as the online Platform (beta.shapeshift.com)
Once this is complete you will have access to the application. Before you can receive your BTC reward or trade any assets you are going to need to verify your account. You can do this from the BTC asset page or the trade page. Once verified you will have full access to the app!
2. If you have a Portis account but NOT a ShapeShift account please refer to the process in step 1 above. While ShapeShift owns Portis, it is a separate wallet. When you create your new mobile wallet in the ShapeShift app it will have its own login info. You can use the same email to create an account if you would like, but you do not need to.
3. If you already have a verified account please follow the steps below!
A. Download the new ShapeShift mobile app, you'll be prompted to login:
B. Enter your email and password from your ShapeShift account.
C. The next screen will display a prompt asking you to reset your password for this account. In order to use the mobile app and the platform, you must create a new password. This new password will gain you access to both the mobile app AND beta.shapeshift.com. Note: Passwords are not recoverable. The only way to recover funds from any of your accounts is to either have the account username and password or the recovery seed phrase. In order to continue, you must acknowledge this important security prompt.
D. Next you'll be asked to create a new password. Be sure to store this safely!
E. Once your new password has been created, you'll be taken to the "Create Wallet" step. It's important to note that creating a wallet will disconnect the last wallet you had connected to beta.shapeshift.com. So please note, when you log back in on your desktop/browser, you'll notice the wallet has been disconnected.
F. Your wallet has been created! You'll notice you have a balance already - lucky you. All new users will receive 1 USD of BTC when they sign up for the mobile app (amount of BTC varies depending on market value at the time of wallet creation).
4. If you already have a verified account AND use Google SSO to login you will need create a new account through the mobile app without Google SSO (please refer to option 1 in this article). Due to the increased security of our non-custodial mobile wallet we do not support Google SSO logins. You will need to use a different email other than your Google one as you cannot have multiple accounts tied to the same email. Please follow the steps below.
First off, when you created your original account you earned 100 FOX! (Congratulations!) This promo is now over so we want to make sure that you keep your FOX. If you haven't done so already, please withdraw your FOX to any of the Platform compatible wallets (KeepKey, Ledger, Trezor, or Portis). When you create and verify your new account you will be awarded 10 additional FOX (the current promotion). Please keep this FOX for the inconvenience of going through the above steps.
Next, we need to make this new account your verified account as you can only have one verified account per user. Please open up a ticket with our fantastic support team here: https://shapeshift.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/requests/new
and let us know what your old Google email was. We will remove the verification from this account and email you back letting you know when this is done (under 24 hours). Once this is completed, you can now go through the verification process for your new account/email on our new mobile app! Once you are verified you are good to go! You should now have 110+ FOX, full access to the Mobile app, and a small BTC reward as well!
Please note, that when we remove the verification from your original email address, you will also lose your transaction history for that account. Please make sure to download it should you require it!
